Participation Update

Information went out to 10 teams and contacts on April 21, 2009 about their interest in participating in this year's
tournament. We have confirmed that this year we will have all 10 teams participating in the event. So far Taverners, Lions
from Winnipeg, New York, Milwaukee Cricket Club, St. Cloud,Falcons Cricket Club, Bhakta Cricket Club, MCA 11 and
MICC-Cavaliers will all be participating.

Venue:
Bryn Mawr Park will be the sight of this years tournament. We will use both Cricket fields to accomodate 2 games played
at the same time.

Hotel Update
The Hotel that we have negotiated special pricing for this year is the Downtown Hilton .
Please confirm With Josine Durant the number of rooms your Team will require.

Whats Happening this Year

Friday
Cricket Forum: Mike Findlay former West Indies Wicket keeper and manager, will hold a cricket
forum Friday evening come and discuss the current state of cricket. Explore the future of West
Indies Cricket. Reminisce about matches gone by.

Bowling Clinic: There will be a bowling clinic Sponsored by Ed Steele Construction Friday from
4 PM to 6PM. Come and receive expert advice on your bowling provided by former West Indies
Greats Nixon Mclean and Ian Allen.

Opening Game: The opening game of the tournament will be a Friday evening exhibition match between The
Taveners Cricket Club and the Minnesota masters. Minnesota Masters is a compilation team made up of the best Cricket
Talent Minnesota had to offer 20 years ago. Come on out and watch the "Old School" play!
Opening Ceremony: After the opening game we will migrate to downtown Minneapolis for an Opening Ceremony
event at Brits Pub.

Saturday
Tournament Starts: Come out and watch non stop Cricket from Morning to evening. Enjoy food, drink and the
comradery of the game.
Saturday Evening Gala: Come out to the Minneapolis Downtown Hilton for our Saturday evening Gala. Join us for
Music and dance provided by DJ Trevor. Enter a raffle to win various prizes. Meet the other teams and their supporters.

Sunday
Tournament Finishes: Watch the elimination rounds and the finals, as the 10 teams battle for the first place trophy.
Awards Ceremony: Stay around after the finals to see the awards ceremony.

Welcome to the USA Invitational Tournament Page
The USA Cricket Invitational Tournament is hosted by MICC and Cavaliers Cricket Clubs of Minneapolis Minnesota every Labor
Day weekend. The tournament is invite only and has been ongoing since its inception in 1993. The goal was to create a
Cricket tournament that would excite the US public and gain widespread sponsorship. Teams from Canada and throughout the
USA have been invited to compete in this challenge. Over the years the USA Invitational has experimented with reduced Overs,
Bowling from one end, and time limits all with the goal to permit maximum matches on limited grounds. These and other forms
are now all common practice in the 20/20 format.
