Winnepeg Trip Room Rentals

Just a reminder please call and book if you have not done so
already. If you have please let me know. I would like to keep a head
count on room/people.

Hello All,

Back to dealing with our Memorial Weekend travel and hotel.
Every year I seem to encounter some new policy. This year I am told
I cannot put all the rooms under my name unless I sign an contract
guaranteeing all the rooms will be paid for if they are not used.
Obviously, I'm not will to do this for obvious reasons.

So here is the deal - we are going to be staying at the Delta
Winnipeg. We have stayed there before. They are guaranteeing us
a rate of $109 Canadian/night(with the strength of the US dollar this
comes out to ~$90US/night). Last year we paid $80 Canadian/night
when the dollar was 1:1, this is a much nicer hotel and I guarantee
you will be able to take a shower without water temperate issues.

They have a block of room waiting for us to call and reserve. They
are holding the room for May 22 check in and May 25 Check out(3
nights), you can add subtract nights as you wish. You have to give a
credit card number etc. It is first come, first serve basis. Laurie
Gordon is our contact person. Toll free # 888-330-5422, her direct
204-944-7279. Tell them you are calling to book at the Delta
Winnipeg , ask for the Minneapolis/Saskatchewan group(Group
Code F9SMCC). Please call ASAP. If you are planning on rooming
with someone, please coordinate this or let me know and I'll try to
find you a mate, make that a roommate.

I would appreciate it if you could inform me once you book, so I can
keep a head count. Once again the call is out to put together a
competitive team. So I am calling on all of those MICC folks that told
me last year that they will be coming this year. Rajan, Mike, Danny,
Chris, Nalika, Jawad,..lets join the party.

Another thing, they are not will to give us a room to have a social
unless we cater their food and use their bar. So will have to use a
guest room. There are some pool side room that I would like for
those with kids to reserve. Those who do not care for the pool side
rooms, please ask for the room across from the poolside rooms to
keep our noise contained. this would be very much appreciated.

Thanks!
Tulsie

A Note from PAM

Greetings, Cricket Family!
Some of you already know, but for the rest of you who
haven't heard: I will be leaving my current employer (of
the past 27 years) and moving to Mason City, Iowa to
join a new company.  While I'm sad to be leaving the
Minneapolis area, I'm very excited about my new job.  I'll
be an assistant to the president who is young,
aggressive, forward-thinking and fun!  I know he will
challenge me to perform at a higher level so it may be
frustrating at times but I'm positive this is the right move
for me.  He & his team started recruiting me back in
January and are very excited to have me on board.
They value my years of experience, my contacts & my
knowledge about the industry. My current employer has
been struggling financially for some time & I believe it's
only a matter of time before they close the doors. Mason
City has a population of only 29,000 so I think adjusting
to that small of a town will be the biggest challenge for
me.  It's only a 2 hour drive - straight south on Interstate
35 - so I'll still be up in Mpls. on the week-ends, cheering
our teams on to victory!  And, Charles, I'm told they have
a lot of available ball fields there & a university (NIACC -
Northern Iowa Area Community College) so maybe you
all can come down there & have a demonstration/match
some day.  My new boss has even tried to play the game
once or twice.  And, at any time, I'd be glad to any of you
come for a visit - I even have a guest bedroom & finished
basement now so will actually have places for people to
sleep!  I'll begin moving down to MC the first week in
April & will begin work at my new job around April 7th or
8th.   I hope to see you all soon, if not before the move
then shortly after for the first game - with a whistle
around my neck, a pom-pom in one hand & a beer in the
other!
Love to you all,
Auntie/Sister Pam
